+ More info

What is interesting about Peregrine Metals Ltd. (T.PGM)?

  • Peregrine Metal’s flagship project Altar is a large porphyry copper-gold deposit and an advanced stage exploration project located in San Juan Province, a mining-friendly jurisdiction of Argentina.
  • The company is building a sizable copper resource deposit which could attract significant attention from bigger miners when price for copper strengthens. The demand for copper is in an uptrend in the long term as fast growing economies of India, China and other major developing countries increase the consumption of this essential metal due to the boom in infrastructure development.
  • On October 4th the company reported an updated NI 43-101 resource report based on drill results for the 140 core holes (55,641 metres) drilled at Altar to date. The report showed a resource estimated to be 7.41 billion pounds of copper and 1.53 million ounces of gold at a cut-off grade of 0.3% in the measured and indicated categories. The Inferred Resource was estimated at 4.32 billion pounds of copper and 880,000 ounces of gold, both at a 0.3% CuEq cut-off grade.
  • Significant exploration potential still exists to expand the resource base since the company maintains that the current deposit at the Altar Project is open to expansion laterally in two directions and to depth and is expected to increase with future continued drilling.
  • The company is currently pursuing the Preliminary Economic Assessment, scheduled for completion this year. The current definition drilling is part of this study.
  • The Altar Project is surrounded by excellent infrastructure with potential of water access on site, nearby power source and close proximity to ports.
  • The company has a strong treasury with over $13 million in working capital to fund near term exploration programs. A strong treasury will facilitate exploration and development programs and could provide near term catalysts.
  • Peregrine Metals is led by an experienced and strong management team. At the helm is Mr. Eric Friedland with over 25 years mineral exploration & development experience. The management team owns close to 18% of outstanding shares in the company that shows strong commitment.

Risks

Peregrine Metals is an early stage exploration company. The commercialization risks associated with mineral exploration and development are high and its prospects for discovering economically viable resources are uncertain. Copper and Gold prices can fluctuate and a decline in copper and gold prices could impact the share price of the company adversely. Early stage exploration companies typically needs significant amount of capital and although well financed currently, Peregrine Metals may require additional financing. This could result in shareholders’ dilution.
