Technical Breakouts: Stocks with 50 day SMA moving above its 200 day

Published:

A relatively well known quantitative indicator used by investors is a simple moving average (SMA) – the average price of a stock over a specified period of days. Most common SMA’s used are the 50 day and the 200 day, as it shows the stock’s price performance in the short and long-term horizons, respectively. If the 50 day SMA moves above the 200 day SMA, then this is seen as a bullish technical indicator of an additional appreciation in the stock’s price over the short term, which is currently being experienced by the companies on our list.
