Key Findings for the week:

• Fortuna Silver Mines Inc. (TSX: FVI) was the top performer for the week with a 20.10% gain in market capitalization. The market capitalization rose as the company recently announced its Q3’14 production figures, where it delivered 1.8 million ounces of silver, a 63% increase over Q3’13 and 9,751 ounces of gold plus base metal by-products, a 116% increase over Q3’13 which attribute to better operating performance that directly translates to bottom line results.

• The UM 20 index declined 2.06% this week to end at 77.02. It outperformed the TSX Venture index (-6.31%) and S&P/TSX Global Mining Index (-2.88%).

• The TSX Venture index declined 6.31% last week to close at 827.13. The decline was primarily due to drops in the prices of oil, gold, copper and other commodities which declined the stock price of constituent companies.
