Business Overview
Blackline GPS Corp. is a Calgary-based technology manufacturer of security, tracking & monitoring devices for automotive, commercial and industry safety and family use. Blackline sells its products under its own brand name and through a licensing arrangement with Escort Inc.
The company sells its GPS devise under the brand name the Entourage GPS and has several GPS based products to provide tracking and protection to various types of vehicles and equipments. Like any other GPS device it allows users to keep track of their vehicle's location, but the device goes one step further and collects everything from speed to amount of vehicle usage. This has potentially many usage in both personal and profession settings. The company has been in news recently as it was one of the prominent Canadian companies that participated in the consumer electronics show that concluded last week in Las Vegas.

Blackline GPS is an early stage technology company. The company is operating in the highly competitive consumers’ market and its products are still not well established in the market. It could face challenges from other competing products. The company is still not profitable and might require to access capital markets to raise additional financing. This could potentially result in shareholder dilution. The capital market is still tight for small cap stocks and this could present a risk if the company fails to raise much needed cash in the future. The commercial success of its technology is also not guaranteed and much will depend on the acceptance of its technology in the market place.
