Business Overview
Synodon Inc. is a Canada-based advanced remote sensing technology company. The Company has developed a platform technology called RealSens capable of measuring small ground-level gas concentrations from an aircraft flying up to 300 meters in altitude. This technology enables testing of natural gas leaks in pipelines, plants and other sites. It does this cost effectively and faster than competing technologies.
The target market for the company is the detection of the hydro carbon emissions for the oil and gas industry estimated at $1.6 billion annually. Within this broader market, the underground gas leak detection market worldwide estimated at over $300 million worldwide is the immediate focus for the company.
What is interesting?
The biggest differentiator for the company is its breakthrough technology which is proprietary to Synodon. The underlying technology was developed and proven out under Canada's Space Program by the University of Toronto and Canadian Space Agency and then further refined by company’s scientists. The company developed this technology further and Synodon currently has patents pending in US, Canada and Europe.

Risks
Synodon is an early stage technology company. It is still in the final stages of commercialization of its technology and does not have any revenue yet. The company recently raised capital through a private placement but and will likely need additional infusion of capital to survive. The capital market is still tight for small cap stocks and this could present a risk if the company fails to raise much needed cash in the future. The commercial success of its technology is also not given and much will depend on the acceptance of its technology in the market place.
