Business Overview
Pure Energy has an innovative rechargeable battery technology. The Company's batteries provide a convenient, money-saving and environmentally responsible alternative to today's single-use, disposable batteries as well as other rechargeable battery systems. Pure Energy products are sold under private label and under the Pure Energy
TM and Perfectly Natural Solutions
TM brands. Through a growing network of strategic partners and distributors, products are sold in over 12 countries by leading retailers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM's).
Pure Energy is the world's only manufacturer of Rechargeable Alkaline batteries. Rechargeable Alkaline batteries are the only rechargeable batteries that can be used in any application that uses disposable alkaline batteries. They can be recharged hundreds of times leading to cost savings for consumers and less greenhouse gas emissions and waste entering landfill compared to throw-away alkaline batteries. Rechargeable Alkaline batteries do not contain heavy metals such as cadmium or mercury and offer several performance and cost advantages over other rechargeable batteries including an industry leading 7 year shelf life - 40 times longer than regular rechargeable NiMH batteries.
What is interesting?
- Pure Energy is one of those clean tech companies that has real revenues ($4 Million in 2009) suggesting the product is working.
- Further it is merging with Wild Charge Inc a Colorado based firm and a provider of wire free charging technology. Combining these two companies (will be called Pure Energy Solutions) should give them an edge as they can combine their sales and marketing relationships to make their product offering even better. (Merger is still to be approved)
- With environmental consciousness increasingly pervasive with consumers, companies are offering consumer products and are vying to be green. There is a whole range of consumer products today that have rechargeable batteries. But none of those are alkaline batteries and are typically NiMH batteries which have heavy metals like Cadmium or Mercury that are poisonous.
- Increasingly most jurisdictions are aware of the menace of these heavy metals on water table poisoning and a host of other environmental problems. Pure Energies batteries offer a solution for consumer product companies who are looking to offer greener alternatives in their products and some times forced to do so due to landfill, waste and recycling requirements imposed on them.
- Rechargeable alkaline batteries are ideal for low to medium drain applications such as GPS devices, stand by power, security and sensor devices, remote controls, cordless phones, caller ID and IP phones, and radio frequency and solar charged applications.
Risks
As with most clean tech companies this company is not profitable. So it will need additional infusion of capital to survive. So this presents a risk for shareholders of both dilution and company being able to withstand another debt crisis like the one we witnessed in recent past.
